Beauty products never cease to amaze us! After the traditional homemade masks and scrubs, it’s time for a dermatological peeling to be performed in the privacy of your bathroom. Zoom on an exceptional treatment.

Botulinum toxin injections, collagen, laser treatments, micro-dermabrasion, peelings….Dermatologists now have a formidable arsenal to make us look irresistible and help us fight the effects of time. Women and men no longer hesitate to resort to this type of treatment, with its immediately visible action. And what if the “new skin” effect could now be achieved at home, thanks to a new generation of peels that combine gentleness and simplicity with dermatological effectiveness? Here is an update on these revolutionary products.
The home peel, a new dermatological alternative
Keeping your skin smooth, fresh, and luminous is the ultimate dream. An unattainable dream? Not so sure about the appearance, made in the USA, of “resurfacers” or home dermatological peels.
Not to be confused with a simple peeling. The purpose of a peel is to remove a more or less thin layer of skin to facilitate its regeneration while reducing or even eliminating defects such as dullness, irregularities, dilated pores, wrinkles, fine lines, brown spots, etc. There are two types of peels: Firstly, the so-called mechanical or dermabrasion peel, which consists of sanding part of the epidermis to smooth out the micro-relief of the skin, and the chemical peel, where a solution is applied to rid the skin of its dead cells. The more the skin is marked, the deeper the action must be, knowing that there are three degrees of peeling: superficial, medium, and deep.
The superficial dermatological peel, performed in the office, offers a gentler alternative to the other two and can be used on all skin types, including black or Asian skin and sensitive skin, with 4 to 5 sessions spread over a month. Its active ingredients, mainly fruit acids, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid, “peel off” the dead cells of the horny layer and help accelerate cell renewal.
The homemade peeling, tested... and approved!
What’s new: this famous “radiance boost” can now be obtained without going to a doctor’s office. Sold in drugstores, these famous “resurfacers” come either in the form of a mask to be left on or an exfoliating cream to be applied by massage. The main difference between an in-office peel and a home peel lies in the concentration of the active ingredients. The home peel will undoubtedly have a brightening effect on the complexion, but it will be less effective and more ephemeral than a dermatological peel. If these new products do not make the happiness of dermatologists, women seem to find their account: these homemade cares are more reassuring (there is no medical act), and we should note that they are more comfortable. The possible tingling and redness that sometimes follow the treatment in the office are extremely rare at home.
The results can be excellent even if it does not entirely replace a professional peel. It is an alternative of choice for all those who do not wish to cross the door of the doctor’s office, preferring to take care of themselves in the privacy of their bathroom!
