The summer is ending, and most of us will return to school or work. Is there a way to keep your summer glow longer? Are they any back to school skincare tips? Is healthy skin just about beauty products?
Calypso Cavallo gives you her best tips to keep your summer glow through fall!
Back to school skincare tips!
Summertime is blessed for many teens and young adults because it removes a significant skin problem: acne! Sunlight and salt from seawater do wonders on acne-prone skin, but there is a catch: the breakouts come back as soon as you stop being in the sun all day and swimming in the seam, aka back to school. Stress does not help to control acne breakouts as it is often a side trigger. Is there a way to keep your perfect summer skin? Is there special back to school skincare to do?
First, keep using the same products you used during the summer. If your skin looks and feels good, it means they are efficient for you. Stick on them. Even with your busy work or school schedule, do not forget to take the time to do your daily skincare routine and that mask once or twice a week. It decreases your stress level in addition to helping your skin look better.
Back to school skincare routine!
Sticking to a proper skincare routine is the most efficient way to keep your perfect summer skin.
In the morning, even if you are rushing to get ready for school, take the time to wash your face with a gentle face cleanser and apply a moisturizer. The best moisturizer for acne-prone skin contains salicylic acid that helps to eliminate dead skin and avoid pore clogging. Tea tree extract is also a popular ingredient for acne-prone skin, as it is a natural antibacterial.
During the day, you can take fifteen minutes to be out in the sun, as UV light may improve acne-prone skins.
If you have a PE class or sweaty sports training, do not forget to wash your face afterward. If you do not do sport, there is no need to wash your face more than twice a day. Overwashing your face may irritate the skin and cause more breakouts.
Always wash your face and apply a moisturizer before bed, either cream or serum. It is crucial as it eliminates the dirt, sweat, and air pollutants accumulated during the day. If you shower at night, you can wash your face under the shower (the same goes for the morning shower and face washing, of course).
Once or twice a week, you can apply a mask. The best mask for acne-prone skin is purifying yet not harsh to the skin. The best ingredients are tea tree extract, witch hazel, and the Dead Sea mud. Those ingredients help to exfoliate the dead skin that tends to clog pores and cause breakouts.
Keep your summer diet!
Your skin may be radiant in the summer for other reasons than just skincare habits, sunlight, or seawater. Diet is crucial for health overall and skin health in particular. Maybe your skin is radiant because you drink more water and eat better while on vacation. Those large salads, fruit snacks, and giant iced glasses of water may do wonders on your skin!
Keep eating healthy and drinking plenty of water, even when the summer is over. Swap iced water for tea if the mercury goes down, and add side salads to your hot dishes to keep your summer skin throughout the year. Diet and hydration are also skincare and can be a game changer for your physical and mental health!
