Orange is a winter fruit. Most people know it contains vitamin C and antioxidants, but fewer are aware you can use orange peel in a homemade face mask for radiant skin.
This homemade face mask recipe is ideal for zero waste and eco-friendly beautistas!

Getting orange peel powder
The peel of that delicious orange you just consumed needs to be ground up into a powder first. The goal here is not to rub the peel directly onto your skin, but rather to extract all of the beneficial substances that the orange peel naturally contains and concentrate them.
Because you do not want to rub chemical residues into your skin, opting for organic oranges is the best option.
After you have collected a sufficient amount of orange peel, you will need to dehydrate it. There are a few different approaches to take. If you reside in an area that gets a lot of sun, you can put them outside to dry in the sun. You could alternatively dry your orange peel in an oven set to a low temperature for six hours, or you could use a dehydrator for the full 24 hours.
After they have been dehydrated, the peels should be ground up into a powder in a blender. You are now in possession of the primary component for our winter face mask.
Orange peel mask recipe
Here is the recipe for our orange peel face mask.
- 4g or 1½ teaspoons orange peel powder
- 1.5g or ½ teaspoons turmeric
- 3g or a teaspoon of honey
Honey should be added to the dish after the orange peel powder and turmeric have been combined. Because we need a thick paste in order to easily apply it to the face, there is no need to add any additional water.
Use directions
After applying the mixture on your face, let it sit for fifteen to twenty minutes. Perform a thorough washing with water. It is important to avoid getting the mask in your eyes.
After you have finished cleansing your face, you can apply rose water to it to make it look clean and radiant.
You should only use this mask no more than twice or three times each week.
Warning
It is important to remember to perform a “test patch” on your arm before using turmeric topically for the first time because some people are allergic to the ingredient and may have an adverse reaction to it.
The “patch test” is essential for using handmade face masks and other skincare products because, in contrast to their store-bought counterparts, these do not undergo testing in a laboratory before being used.
To accomplish this, place a minuscule amount of the mixture into your arm and then wrap your arm with a bandage. Hold your breath for a full day. You may apply the mask directly to your face if you do not experience any unfavorable effects.
Benefits
Orange peel powder can be used to exfoliate the skin in a very delicate manner. The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric make it a popular treatment for acne scars and pimples. Honey is a good antibacterial, in addition to having many other beneficial properties for the skin.
Your skin will look and feel better after using this winter mask that you can make at home.
