What are bath bombs?
Their names are close to a war device but are meant to make your bath a relaxing and luxurious moment. Bath bombs are the modern bath salts and bubble baths your mom used to pour into your bath water when you were a kid. But unlike their ancestors, bath bombs are single-use. Once you drop one in your bath, it completely dissolves.
Bath bombs are all in one: they color the bath water, make it smell good, and sometimes add a little extra such as glitters or rose petals.
Bath bombs turn your plain bath into a very Instagramable home spa. The possibilities are endless: a bath bomb can make you feel like you are at a fancy spa in Fiji, while another will take you down into a pink and glitter unicorn paradise. Or anything you can find at your favorite bath bombs store!
What do bath bombs do?
First, bath bombs add a lovely and relaxing extra to your bath. Setting a cozy and magical ambiance in a generic bathroom is excellent. In addition, some bath bombs contain moisturizing ingredients, such as oils that help to replenish your skin.
Buying bath bombs is excellent for your mental health because it “forces” you to take time for yourself and relax. When you use a bath bomb, go in self-care mode. Clean and organize your bathroom. Use some lovely little candles for a relaxing atmosphere. Get fresh towels and bathrobes ready. The bath bomb will add a cute color and a pleasant smell to your bath water for a luxuriant experience. Oh, and enjoy, of course. Taking a bath has many health benefits: it is excellent for eliminating tension and relaxing muscles. It helps with certain types of pain, such as period cramps or soreness after sport.
Are bath bombs always safe?
Bath bombs are relaxed and fun, but are they safe? The answer is not simple. Bath bombs’ safety depends on their ingredients. They all contain the same ingredients, but the quality dramatically varies from brand to brand.
The base of all bath bombs is the same: sodium bicarbonate and citric acid (same as in lemon juice). Those two ingredients are safe. However, some people experience rash, irritation, or allergic reaction after using bath bombs. Those adverse effects are from the bath bombs’ dyes and fragrances. While some products they natural, in others, they are synthetic and may cause or worsen skin conditions in some people.
People with sensitive and reactive skin should be careful when they buy bath bombs. They should check for controversial ingredients and use high-quality products. People suffering from certain skin conditions such as eczema, contact dermatitis, or psoriasis are not advised to take a long bath and to use bath bombs, as the disease weakens their skin.
